This story is a battle of wills. It details the struggle between two equally clever adversaries. Griselda Grouse is fiercely determined to keep the squirrels away from her bird feeder, so she can save all the seed for the birds. she devises all manner of tricks to keep the squirrels away.  But the squirrels are amazingly resilient creatures, and Griselda soon realizes that she should not have underestimated her furry foes.
